A relitive of a friend of mine was conned in a add to go to Malasia to work
when he got there he was locked in a building with other Chinese and nearly staved to death.
Long story short
they got away after about a month and deported back to China.
he lost 30000RMB  but nearly lost his life.

So in the land of scams do you talk about these things?.

To students I do not, they were born in the land of scamming and should be aware of what's going on.

To my friends I do, in detail, hoping tey become aware of "what looks too good to be true", is normally a way of taking money from you.

who is tey? I'm pretty sure other countries have scams...Nigeria and America surely do..ever heard of storesonline?

Definitely!
I warn my foreign freidns about scams targeting foreigenrs and I warn my students about the kinds of foreigners of whom one must be careful. For example, last year in my previous University there were a few cases where foreign students were asking their girlfriends to pick up packages at the Post office for them or even receive them at their homes.  Turned out to be drugs or illegal material.  The girls were in a LOt of toruble the boyfriends disappeared (they were eventually caught!). Thankfully all three girls were able to clear their names.
As to the scams tht we face, well, those are very well covered already.

Even smart people make dumb mistakes, God knows I have made my share! One thing that often worries me is that many students think that just because their foreign teacher is funny and friendly etc. that all foreigners are that way, so i try to warn them to be careful just like they would be careful with anyone else. As for my fellow expats and foreign friends, we HATE being made a sucker, and since we do not have the same concept of face I like to warn people just like I have been warned as well! For example, if I had not been told about this scam, the one where a college girl invites you to tea, coffee or a drink to a particular restaurant or bar, I would have swallowed the whole hook, line, sinker, fishing-pole, and boat!

You could hold a clinic on scams philbravery..I'm sure knowing how to avoid scams is something valueable to society. What types of scams are there, how do people get scammed, I'm sure many people have questions about the scams that go on and they would never want to be a victim of such a petty crime. ~~ But from what I know I've seen scams happening all over the place. I can name a couple of companies and professions that do scam people. I tell everybody everything! Better let it out than keep it in..if you think it is a suspicious mail or note you better let someone know about it.
