Q: does he like me?

I work in a chinese office (I'm British). A Chinese guy in my office started chatting to me. I'm also attracted to him and feel that we clicked straight away. When I first started I felt he went out of his way to get to know me. He occasionally stares and makes eye contact.

Then at times he's really shy and we don't speak. I was away from China for two weeks and he seemed pleased I was back at work. We had lunch one day and he asked me how long I plan to stay in China. I feel this is good because he wants to get to know me long term.

I'm a bit confused do I ask him out? Or show him that I'm interested? I get a feeling that he doesn't know that I like him. I also think the work situation can make things awkward.

I think you are a Chinese girl. Sure doesn't sound like a post from a girl from Britian.

I'm with derek. This overly shy and wishy washy pineing isn't very British. I could be wrong since I'm an American, but this sounds like the making of a Jane Austen storyline...

bottomline...ummm just ask him if he's interested if not move on.

Pretty sure she's not pining. Weak, naive, self-doubting, spineless even, perhaps. But not pining.

i said i could be wrong because I don't know. Not stereotyping. Some behavior is specific to some females. I eveb offered a suggestion. Way to be negative and miss the point folks

Actually, I understand Crimo's suggestion she use tweezers. Many Chinese guys are shy, so this will "help" him to come along! It also allowes him to "save face" if he is married, then he can say "I was forced!"wink

Ask him if he likes you. I had a similar situation, but when I asked the guy, he said he liked someone else. Maybe he is into you, maybe he's just being friendly. You won't know until you ask, because he may never say how he feels.

He's probably married if he's older than 25, so he could be nervous about how to make you his mistress.

I would ask.  "Are you married?"  first and foremost.

I would have to see your picture to give you an honest answer. But generally if someone looks at you often, there is attraction. So about that picture .....

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
