The answer is yes, but you must know your way around.  FRirst byou will have a communication problem, most little shops speak only Chinese.  Second, you must replenish your account with money bcoming from a Chinese Bank, money from others is not accepted.  Only thru Alipay (like PayPal back home).   Third many clerks can and know how to ship inside China,and do not know or are to lazy to learn how o ship abroad, so they may refuse your order.

The way around all of this is by using one of the Taobao Agents, as they are known.  For a percentage of the order as their fee, they will place the order, insure it is the merchandise you want, and do the paperwork to ship it overseas.  No agent, no order going overseas in most cases.

I am here in Beijing for few months but I tried everything to contact taobao but no way.I want contact them directly without agent assistance .Shipping is not big deal for me since live here, Some agent may send you fake product. no, don't use taoabao if you don't want to lose your money,  this site is full of cheaters and liars and it doesn't care about it. they sell fake goods, contraband and steal money, i just lost my money there, i wanted to buy some shoes and after i paid the guy deleted his homepage and just dissappeared, and even i wrote several e-mails to the admins of taoabo they said they can't do anything and they don't care.
so if you don't want to waste your money stay away from taobao.com!!!
