Very few do. However, since I am already suffering from male pattern baldness, I guess I really dont have much to lose...

I admit it, I LOL'd.  At the question, not at G-Raf's male pattern baldness

Ah, dont worry, I laugh at my own baldness!

The place I went to washed my hair before and after cutting it, so can't see what difference sterilizing would do. They didn't cut me.

The place I go to at home, I have a regular girl and each time she takes the first cut , I yell ouch. Of course everybody in the shop looks and then she swats me. I'm happy.

TedDBayer:

I can rmember barber shops at home putting the combs they used in a jar of solution, can't say that I notice that anymore or not.

I have never seen this. Scissors, probably not a big concern. But when they use a razor knife to shave off stuff, then I would prefer this knife had at minimum been in a cup of boiling hot tea, but the norm is more that it is wiped against the hairdressers pants or shirt.

Back home I have never seen signs of hairdressers cleaning their tools either.

As with GuillinRat, for me this is a problem that will disappear over time

Do any hairdressers sterilise their equipment? Is it necessary?
