Q: Don't you just hate the way links on Chinese websites always open new windows?

Sorry - pet hate of mine.

Whenever I surf Chinese websites and click on links to stories or other sections of the sites, it always opens up a new window on my browser, which is a pain for me as I like to keep everything on my computer nice and tidy.

Does anyone else feel the same?

yes I know . it's annoying especially when you use Internet Explorer.. My guess is the Chinese websites want to keep you on it as long as possible .
Now I mostly use Firefox and chrome . when click a link ,I'll right click it and choose “open in a new tab”
I hope this will work for you .

Thanks, yeah I use chrome too. Maybe I should get into that habit!

Yes that does drive me crazy. I get 20 tabs going sometimes. I will try the chrome-trick mentioned here (or see if I can work it in Opera).

You can go into firefox settings and make links open in new tabs rather than windows. Not sure how to do this in chrome/opera, but you probably can.
In Firefox go into tools then options then click tabs. There is a box you can check to open windows in a new tab.

I use explorer, there is a setting under 'internet options' >general>tabs-settings on this page>select what you want links to do - open in new window, -open in new tab etc.

I absolutely loathe it. Some sites are just so bad, especially some of those video streaming ones. It really puts me off those sites.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
