Q: Earthizen...Lets debate politics ?
Lets have a proper debate. Rather than have you say other ppl are wrong, lets have a proper debate as to why you think they are wrong. This will be a long drawn out debate due to geography, time zones and fact checking.
Lets start.
You pick the start subject earth.
I am not interested in politics. I don't need politics to tell me torturing and killing 2-7 million people, maiming around 20 million, splashing hot instant noodles on some flight attendant's face in an airplane, manufacturing poisonous milk powder, shitting on the streets, buses, subway of your own and other countries, repeatedly kicking your enemy who can be anyone ranging from your wife, girlfriend, or some stranger on the head, porcelain-crashing cars on streets, spitting everywhere you go, bribing and extorting monies and whatever you want using your position in a dictatorship government ......etc. wrong.
Obviously you have a problem with me calling people who engage in these acts wrong, because that is what I have been and are doing. Also, it doesn't matter what race, sex, occupation, age.......etc. either, anyone or group who does or support those who does these is wrong.
Sure, start by stating your rationale in deeming the above-mentioned acts right.

Is universal free healthcare (worldwide), a human right?.
To put it simply from my opinion. If I, as a champgne socialist, am sitting in a bar sipping champagne, and some government dude comes in and shouts out give me your money for the sick kids, I would hang up my glass and give my money.
I would expect representation in such a scenario. And to be honest, if someone asked me for my vote, and said I would need to pay 60% tax towards worldwide free healthcare, I would vote for him/her.

In the context of china why do you need a L/R label with something like corruption, torture, mass massacre, censorship, jailing peaceful dissenters including a Nobel Peace prize laureate and refusing his request to go to a western developed country well known for its state of the art medical treatment all the way to his death, child abuse, even shitting on buses?
This is interesting. To you there is no such thing as right or wrong? You subscribe to the law of the jungle where big eats small and life is all about wars? The end justifies the means, this is what mainlanders and many in chinese history who do that. Among these are rulers who have historians edit and rewrite history.

Narrow it to China specific problems (govt sponsored racism, land/ sea grabs, censoring the media, putting people in jail for because you simply don't like their religion and harvesting their organs). Now, I am in Krasnodar close to the Black Sea and there are Kubanska Uni, restaurants, football stadium, sport clubs ... and all carry name Kuban-ska.
At my arrival to the city, I thought Cubans have dachas and things here .... .
I was seriously looking for Fidel's pics and monuments .... and Cuban espresso.
But, name Kuban comes out of river and this area of Russian South.

I've been away from active participation in this forum for a while. What's the beef between Scotsalan and earthizen? From reading, earthizen is firm in his belief that China and the Chinese are amoral and wrongheaded. Scotsalan insists on pointing out the positive things happening, too. I can't see why both positions have to be mutually exclusive... Is this a personal vendetta? Have the two rubbed one another the wrong way once too often?

We need different opinions, different ideas, but we all pretty much share a common dream.
Our disagreement is over what road we take to get to where we want to go.
I think the road to the left gets us there faster. There has been a few wrong turns down dirt lanes because the driver was crap. Dirt lanes that are now paved with bones. Their bleached bones are not a reason for us to not blaze a new trail. We need to keep searching for total equality, equal happiness, and equal opportunities.
We need gun toting republicans to ride shotgun, to stop us from going down those dirt roads where tragedy awaits.
At the same time, the right needs the left to stop it from the stupidity of bigotry and gas chambers.
The left has the hardest job, the biggest challange
I am left, because I am trying to pull the right to the middle.
