I watched a Spanish-style bullfighting, the corrida, which in my opinion was worse than having two bulls fighting each other which has some equality. The cuadrilla, or bullfighting team was comprised of seven bullfighters, a matador with six assistants to help him. The two picadores stabbed the bull to induce rage. There was no real chance of the bull winning, not really. I would not call the matador or any of the bullfighting team heroes. In my opinion they were cowards.

My older sister and I went to a bullfight somewhere around Madrid about a hundred years ago.  We got up and walked out after about twenty minutes.  Looked like vicious, brutal slaughter to us.  Pointless.

Boo Espana & Portugal for continuing/encouraging that nonsense.

No human involvement and low injuries are a result of human violence, the spectators' included  being taken out onto a trapped bull. Bullying a bull, these people don't have the courage to face their inner violence and aggression, they are the real cowards among mankind. In this regard there is no difference between Eastern or Western bullfighting, cowards are cowards.

I saw one in southern Thailand (koh samui) 2 blls tied up with a blanket between them. remove the blanket and loosen the rope a couple feet. fight until an owner gives up.

The cock fights were far more brutal and cheered at.

I went to one in Jinju City South Korea a few years ago, really interesting.  The bulls where big brown buggers, not water buffalo, with their stage names painted in Hangul on their shoulders.  A bout  is between two bulls, not a bull and a ponce, and can last seconds or go on for an hour, but usually just a few minutes.  It isn't bloodthirsty, the bulls put their heads down and push each other in a sand ring about 50m in diameter, the loser is the one who is first to back down and run away.  I got talking to a local retired professor who was a bit of expert on the matter, and over the course of an hour he informed me of the intricate nuances of the sport including the advantages of horn direction ie. facing forward, backward or neutral.  He also told me some of the successful bulls reach hundreds of thousands of dollars in price.  There is a circuit over summer in different cities apparently, the one I went to was the last of the season and was not well attended like they are at the height of Summer.  I made a video of that trip which has some footage of bullfighting.  If anyone is interested, it can be found here https://youtu.be/Zyf0mtBpoYQ  on youtube.  Sorry if you haven't a VPN, I have not put it up anywhere else.
