Q: Is electricity cheaper at night than daytime??

I heard a rumor about electricity is cheaper during the night in Shanghai. Does anybody know if that's true?

In case it is do you know what are the schedules and what is the % difference?

Cheers

There is less power demand at night (usually after 10pm when a majority of businesses close for the day) so the rates are cheaper as there is less strain on the power stations.  For example in Shanghai, peak hours between 6am and 10pm runs about 0.617/per hour, where the night time rate is 0.307/per hour.

Rates for electricity vary depending on many factors.  For example, and to my knowledge, if you are a residential or an industrial consumer, or the generating costs of electrical power supplied.  I do know in Guangxi if you use eletricity generated by water driven turbines, the cost is cheaper that the one for steam generated.  The difference is about 0,2 Rmb per Kw-hr.  I have heard  some of the rumors that electrical power is cheaper at night, but when the bill arrives, there is no break down for daytime usage, nor for night time usage, so must just be a rumor, not really true.  But I am guessing based on limited experience.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
