Q: Ever been in a car accident in China?
Was in Tianjin a little while back on the way to the train station. Our cabbie was apparently zoning out and failed to notice that the lane he was driving in ended in construction. And a giant hole in the ground. He slammed on the breaks, which took us by surprise, and then we were rear ended by another cab, which also took us by surprise. the car was only going 40 kmph or so, so the damage wasn't too bad, but it was pretty damn frightening to be in a car accident without wearing a seat belt. Anyway, we got out of the car to leave (the train station was nearby and we were going to miss the train) and the cabbie had the nerve to ask us to pay the fare. At least neither of us has a concussion i guess.
Anyone else have a ridiculous car accident story?

was involved in 2 car accidents .... not so serious.. i was driving .. i hit electric bike on both occassions... no big injury.. just drama
I was in a car, we passed a bus on our right a little before an intersection. The driver suddenly realized we should turn right even though we were in the left lane. He paused and just turned without the thought of looking to see if any cars were coming.
I noticed he didnt look, and I remembered the bus, so I looked. Just in time to see the bus hit my door. It was going slow, so no injuries or serious damage, but I remember thinking it was just unbelievable to be such a clueless driver.
Hit on my bike three times by cars -- one time a taxi that ran me over and didn't stop; another time when I was cycling early, early in the morning through a beautiful Regional Park and was the only person on the road besides this card; and the third time when a van just plowed through a red light and right into me.
I was in a slow moving taxi once when the driver hit another car. They argued as I got out and walked away. Didn't pay anything.
I was in a bus once when a car sideswiped us. The bus and the car both stopped. We all got out and waited for another bus. No-one uttered a word: it was as if it was a regular part of their day.
when i drive here my head is on a swivel i usually have to dodge idiot drivers that change lanes w/o looking drivers at night with no lights on electric bikes at night withno lights on its like a video game they dont follow any rules its like a big new toy to them they dont care about the damage a car can do to someone i think their should be police out their taking these idiots cars and bikes from them if the cant drive with 5% of common sense
