Q: The expats work in China do want Chinese partners, right?

I have some friends they want to live and work in China in the future, so they can have local Chinese girlfrends.
OR they want to have local Chinese girlfrends, so they can live and work in China in the future.

So...

For the foreigners who already live and work in China, do you tend to have a local Chinese partners?

Is having a Chinese partner a one of the reasons you live in China?

Can I say the expats work in China do want Chinese partners?

Welcome any discussion.

Thanks

Just to put it clearly, everyone in the world wants to have a partner. Those of us that are living and working here are no different. And since the people all around us are Chinese, its no surprise that most expats do have a chinese partner.

There probably are a few that come here specifically for that reason, however, i think that they are a very very small percentage. Most of us here came for many various reasons and met a nice lady along the way.

Thanks for your answer!

Mainly stay in China for working and living. Such a bonus to have a nice Chinese partner!

I know some did like Crimo but reading one of his stories I felt bad for him. He had a chinese girlfriend while he was hitting on other women then the one he was playing brought him to see her parents. He claimed he was an American and they didn't believe him even after he showed him a scanned passport photo. The parents were quick they quickly learned he was from Nigeria as they had claimed and crimo parted ways and now he's turned into some type of hater!! lol!

It's one of the many perks to look forward to when moving abroad. Chinese food, Chinese women, experience a different culture etc etc.

But like most things, after a while I get sick of it.

Actually Chinese women were the last thing on my mind when I was stationed here for the first time.

Then after a few months of hating it in China I starting meeting Chinese women...and one thing led to another......

My gf would rather I learn fluent Chinese and move to China rather than her perfect her English and move to a much better place (for many reasons).

In closing I came to China for work (my company asked me to go)...I kept the job so I can return and be with her...and the money always helps and China has it's good days too.

Alright, so for a man who does not want Chinese woman finally got a Chinese woman! Interesting!

Nope, didn't come here looking for women, that's never been my problem, I came here because I taught here on a visit, found that it kept me comfortable and left me with lots of free time and it was something I enjoyed. The fact that my wife is Chinese is purely by the by, we English seem to marry very late and it was just the time for me. If i'd stayed home I could have very easily married from any number of nationalities, the area of London I come from apparently boasts more different languages spoken per square mile than any other place in the world. But I came here and the rest just happened. No plan to it and no regrets.

The first time I came to China was for a vacation. I bought my first girl friend on Ebay and returned her. I found many things that shocked me in China, one being the amount of people, they are mostly Chinese and I never really knew any Chinese women. OMG to see all those beauties walking around, I never expected that. I met my girl friend because she has the same dog as I do. I went to see the dog ,not the woman. She spoke some English, we walked and talked, she asked me out.

Now I seem to have eyes for only Chinese girls.

Yea, Chinese women are kinda awesome!

I don't think you can simply generalise and say "all expats living in China are here to find a Chinese partner." In this day and age, the primary goal of most foreigners moving here is to find employment and enhance their careers. As you are probably well aware, Western countries' economies are in ruins and employment opportunities are bleak. China on the other hand, is still developing at an incredible pace compared to the West and there are still plenty of opportunities to be had here. Only old geezers who've failed in their countries come here with the main intention of getting laid. But look around: the majority of us expats in the major 1st tier cities are young, motivated indivuals hoping to make a decent living here.

lilichristian:

I see old geezers go with Filipino women often in Hong Kong. Maybe their English is better. I think young Chinese women who are in better English level in my city would not go with old foreigners.

I don't think its all about the Chinese girlfriends..First its employment then I think everything else falls into place. In Africa there's an alarming number of Chinese men getting married to African women. Can we say the same about you too? Could we then say Chinese guys come to Africa with the hope of settling down with a Black lady? Don't think so...its all about seeking greener pastures and starting afresh if it includes getting married to a Chinese lady, well then that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Actually, I am not that picky. As long as we are compatible, respectful  and are attracted to each other, where she comes from or her race is irrelevant to me.

I think you may have missed the point.

I know the stereotypical man is a human who has had his genitals and cerebrum exchanged but as with most stereotypes it is largely false.

Almost every man I know looks for income / employment / career first and women second. Of course if in doing that you find yourself in China then nature says you are going to look for a partner, and hey, in China most women are Chinese.

Also, of course, there are a significant number of men who aren't gay and aren't looking for a long term partner, they are happily single, I know this as I was such a person myself until a series of unplanned events led to me meeting my wife. (Admittedly a few years back now.)

Most of us come to China to work, to study or to start our own business. (China is a country with many many people carrying  a lot of money around but don't get good products & services).  We come to experience a different culture, to learn the language, to taste different food. As for partners, it should happen naturally. If I fall for someone & he happens to be Chinese, well, I'll give it a go. If I don't meet the right person (foreign or  Chinese), I prefer to be alone.

My point is, many of us will consider to date/marry  Chinese, but none of us will view it as our top priority. We're all looking for a partner, Chinese or non-Chinese.

As far as I am concerned, not at all. In fact I came here to only learn Mandarin and inquire into the Chinese mentality, Culture and also get some money working as a teacher. When I am asked the same question about having a girlfriend it amazes me how disappointed people are when I say that I am not particularly interested in that neither now nor in the future. Thus it's not anymore a priority nor will it be any further. Should I happen to get a girlfriend, I'd dare say that it was by accident ...but again I am good at avoiding such accidents.

First of all, why don't you learn how to ask a proper question? Try "Do expats working in China want to have a Chinese partner?" Second, why do you care? You people are SO INSECURE with your assinine questions..like "Do you like China?" and "How many children do you have?" blah blah blah. South Koreans are the same way. Third, only Asians ask such ridiculous and annoying questions. Fourth, NO, MANY OF US DO NOT.

hiddenjelly,

You're such a *******nob. First of all, I don't hate Asians. There are some that I like and some that I don't. (Just like MANY other people!) So, why don't YOU stop being such a little, oversensitive BITCH?! There are other foreign expats that have ALSO expressed their disapproval of some of the questions, etc. asked by Chinese on this website,etc..but I don't see you running your BIG MOUTH regarding those comments!! :(

Second, why don't you crawl back into whatever stupid*** place that you came from?! BASTOS!! :(
