Q: Extending Business Visa - have you?

Hi all.

I've been told that my business visa has been extended for another 90 days (and, yes, I had 90 on the original).

However, it's just word of mouth, and no-one has touched my passport (except to photocopy in the office, and then give back).

I believe 'guanxi' was involved...

I expected to have to go to the Entry/Exit people and for them to put a mark in the passport, but I've been told I don't have to.

So, does guanxi extend this far?

Thx!

EDIT: I love the assumptions people are making on here... I"ve been living in China on a Business visa for the purposes of registering a business! Unfortunately, final registration for the purposes of having the RP/WP in my business name hasn't come through yet! After this new extension, that should all be done and finalised (I hope!)

Some of you presumed  I am working illegally for a company.... Why? Oh, that's right... because that's what everyone does!

1. Don't work illegally

2. Don't listen and rely on what the school says (they're fucking liars and don't give a rats ass what happens to you.)

You have been in China for a number of years and should know about Chinese screwing foreigners on business visas

Englteachted:

According to the BS you added, you are working illegally. Stop trying to act that you are special.

No.

Most likely it's a plot to make you overstay your visa, then get you reported/reward for turning in illegal foreigners/deported/banned from china.

As I remember, one doesn't need to appear in front of any Gov. when extending F visa.

Your sponsor must go to PSB (I think) with your passport and few days later you'll get passport back with new 90-days F stamp.

I extend it once in 2009 or 10 with Helen in Hangzhou. It was so easy for them to get new F that they didn't even bother with Z.

That's what I was thinking.... hmmm. this could be interesting!

buTT ... yeah from my experience F visa was piece of cake. Helen knew somebody at Gov. (or she use to work there) and I just got my passport back with new 90-days extension.

Are you referring to extending your length of entry?

As an educator your question isn’t worded very well... Tongue

Shining_brow:

Ummm... no. Just getting another 90 days. I didn't think it was that difficult to understand...

Crikey mate. Way to out yourself for working illegally or what? And right before the National Congress. You do like to live dangerously.

Did you forget some of the things you posted in the past?

You should know better

Shining_brow:

Ummm - why? I've never needed to extend a business visa before. All this business registration stuff I had anticipated being finished well before now...

And, I've only had an L visa extended (well, other than the regular RPs of course!)

icnif77:

Tits has point as 'working with F is illegal'. That's true, but F is far more simpler for employer and also for the employee than legal Z.

I am in Vladistan on 90-days Business visa. 100 EUR for Invitation letter with 2 weeks wait. 120 EUR for 1-year (some kind of) Insurance for Russia .... and 60 EUR for 3-days of visa processing. That's all I did. Next 1-year Business visa will cost 120 EUR and I will pick it up in neighbouring country (Turkey, Bulgaria) with some week long processing.

Now when in Russia, I can visit (stay overnight) 2 cities: Moscow and another city of my choice. I cannot accept full time job, but I can moonlight to the death.

For legal working visa I think I don't qualify 'cause NNET.

In response to your op edit.

You really are a clown!

You have gone on about how you are/have been working and even related questionable anecdotes.

The people on this forum are not as stupid as you hope they are. Please don't try to split hairs. Be proud you went to Mcdonald's University of Hamburgerology. Whatever spin you try to put on it, neither i nor the other members of this forum are as forgetful as you wish. We all remember the bollocks you post. Call a spade a spade.

Let me guess, you are opening a business to teach IELTS to marginalised morlocks maintaining moral miasma mainly moaning morosely more often than many imams marketing murder and mayhem to moronic McDonald's minions. Only Islamic lesbian witches with a jihadist jones will hold executive positions, no doubt. Cut the crap and ease up on the obvious spin, clown.

Now you're trying to hint that you're not working for a company, so who told you that? who's guanxi?

iWolf:

Told by who? A unicorn? When did the Entry/Exit Bureau ever contact you? What i reckon is that he simply exited and entered again which reset the 90 day stay clock but he is so desperate to be special he makes up a fantasy about miraculous guanxi. He is "special". Short bus window licking special.

Actually, sunshine... I"ve been on a business visa quite legitimately, and have not been working illegally on it! (although, I doubt you're going to believe that... it's easier to point fingers and accuse...).

The whole point was to get a business registered (WOFE) and then get the WP through that. It's taken longer than expected.... (and yes, it's because I was lied to...).

You guys obviously don't understand that it's very possible (and legal) to "work" (ie, do stuff) in this country without having a "Work Permit"... it happens a LOT. Because (drum roll please...) - you don't get paid by Chinese in China!!!!!! (I happen to have a registered business in 2 different (non-China) countries.) It's also why it's ok to do online work for contractors in other countries... and, obviously, for a Chinese company to hire the services of a foreign company (and for that foreign company to send one of their employees to China to get something done... to do so requires a BUSINESS visa!) And, yes, that is precisely one of the reasons the Business visa was designed for!

You are just begging for trouble posting this on a public forum that is as we all know is monitored by the government.
They know your name and where to find you and what you look like.
Why would you think your beyond their reach

Still waiting to hear where the news came from. OP silence often indicates bullshit and/or an agenda of some kind. The shifty-visa train has left the station but some a still trying to buy tickets and think the departments concerned are stupid. They aren't stupid and have seen it all before. Could this explain the slow processing? A history of shifty visas? National Congress? It's all bullshit and a weak attempt to get some cred? (Fail) Backpedalling attempt after lots of bollocks posted? Attempting to put out the fire with gasoline after publicly outing himself on a forum that is known to be monitored. Mcdonald's University of Hamburgerology really has some top notch alumni.

Opening a wofe to work as a teacher. I need to recalibrate my bullshit detector.

No I have not but I will tell you that the way that the Chinese government treats foreigners is a little harsh. These days remind me of the old apartheid days back in South Africa when the police used to stop black people and harass them for a green pass book.

We all know that a visa renewal in China is akin to inviting the grim reaper to a gold wedding anniversary.

Can't you just go back to your home country to wait for your business licence to be sorted? You will need to go back for your Z anyway.

Shining_brow:

Could... but back home is a LOT more expensive than here... and eats through savings much faster!

Besides, I'm already marketing (and doing research) here... and getting in groundwork in other ways (meetings, investors, videos, etc).

As it turns out - I was wrong! Being used to RPs, I misread the visa... I thought I needed to be out by 24th. In fact, 24th is the date of my last entry into China... hence the "I've been told" bit - it was actually someone correcting me! So - no need to extend (just yet)

Jeezus mate. I thought you were a clown but i was wrong. You are THE clown. Give your head a wobble mate. Repeatedly posting that you have and continue to work illegally is epically moronic. Nice job proving every negative stereotype about foreigners true. Except for the one about shagging lots of girls. We know that's not going to happen.

Legal... illegal... blah blah blah.

I suspect many here are on spouse

The ABC visa threads have vanished into the ether.

ironman510:

I was thinking about the same thing, it means 1. People have gone to M or Q visa's.  / 2. They were forced out due to time and or fake doc's. / 3. The system works 10x easier now that no one really needs to ask us anymore.

I guess we've only known 5 or 6 people who got a ABC visa here on Echina, with the latest being our one and only true Cowboy China dude.
