Q: Favourite National Park?

Mid Autumn is coming up, and I'd love to go to a National Park or scenic area somewhere, but there are so many I don't even know where to begin. Does anyone have any recommendations?

So far I've considered Zhangjiajie? Or maybe Huangshan?

I wanted to see Zhangjiajie, but I felt it too much walking for me and a little pricey, which I think most parks are. In Guilin most city parks charge and in Canada they would be free. Maybe thats just me?  From the reviews I've read the park in laid out so the lifts are the easiest to use at 67Y each one way. Monkeys make it difficult to eat in many areas, and the toilets are not great. The scenery is beautiful.

Zhangjiajie is pretty nice.

I agree with Ted that it requires good walking boots. But there is lots of busses inside the park, lifts etc. The only horror is the food there. Inside the park I only had utter garbage. Which is difficult in combination with lots of walking. Luckily there are plenty of people selling overpriced cola.

Bring a big bag og snacks

Huangshan is a mountain you climb by walking a (very) long stair. It's very beautiful and it does not require any special gear apart from comfortable shoes. However, it will crowded like crazy during mid-autumn break, so I would pass and try in low season. My wife have been there around April, and she had the mountain just for herself.

Meili mountain, in Yunnan, have a lot of 1 to 5 days walks. It's beautiful, wild and you won't see too many people, because it's some serious trekking. Have a good backpack and good walking shoes. Locals have rooms and cook for the trekkers. Deqen is a good starting place for the many walks you can do there.

Go to scenic areas during holiday? ok...

I think you can enjoy full moon and celebrate mid-autumn festival everywhere, even if a small park as long as it has clear good view.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
