Where are you from? We may be able to help if we had some detail.
your english is also not good at all, it i doubt that it is all about the appearance.
there are also alot other jobs for foreigners if they have the relevant qualification.
Especially in quality management, production management or top management. Service engineers or design engineers are also often wanted.

come on, most English teaching jobs are face jobs. for Chinese boss and moronic parents there is still a lot of jobs for English teachers. besides, is her English worst than a mainland Chinese teacher ? I sink . . .
dom87:
i know that chinese care about appearance the most, but not speaking english well is not helping either to score a job.
And since I also have a child here, I dislike getting more unqualified teachers to teach the youngsters...
btw: I never had a native english teacher in my life... we don't think about this stuff, but we require studies in english language and education.
nicholasba:
if you can judge a English teacher from her posts, than you're a better man than I , sir
dom87:
you can judge if they use completely wrong words to express themselves.
i don't judge anyone by posting stuff in the internet if they do not write every word correct or dont use punctuation or whatever...
but if you don't even use the right words and then complain about not finding a job where you would use the language, well then...
Shining_brow:
@NicholasBa... I can. Granted, that's the job I was paid to do....
I'm not judging the person, only their ability to teach English (which, to be fair, is what they've said they don't want to be doing...).
Quite a few inappropriacies, as well as the blatantly obvious "wantS" subject-verb disagreement errors.
They're scoring at about band 6 for IELTS.... IMNSHO - far too low to be teaching the language in a professional environment (not that it would stop anyone in China!)
You should have checked first your grammar before you vent your anger for not being chosen for the position. Sometimes its not about the nationality, its also about the credibility and ability.
this is the water and this is the well, drink full and descend
if you are Asian, you must know already how superficial many Asians are.
Chinese people make snap judgments based on physical appearance - hence the desire for brand products.
if you are a Caucasian guy, you are more likely to be hired, regardless of ability, than if you are an African woman with qualifications into next week.
welcome to China.

Edit: forget it. This site needs a serious update to bring it into this decade.
Egyptian heritage? Well, just think of the proud ancient Egyptians and you can understand half of the chinese's attitudes. The other half is the result of communism, and what communists are, in the bone..... This racist attitude is unlikely to change so if I were you, I would look for jobs in other Asian countries simultaneously. Good luck.
In today’s market, you are competing with many, You have to think about unique ways, nothing to do with outlook. atb
