Q: Getting from Guangzhou and Shenzhen airports to Hong Kong airport by bus

Does anyone know what bus numbers and how long the buses take? Is there one bus that does this?

From Shenzhen airport to HKIA you take the metro to Futain Checkpoint walk across the border and then get on the HK metro system. Alternatively you can take the Shenzhen metro to Shekou Port and sail directly to HKIA

From Guangzhou to HKIA I'd take the train to Shenzhen, and race around the metro as well. (I am unfamiliar with what stations to use)

There are shuttle busses to HKIA from downtown Guangzhou, I recently talked to a dude on the busstation by Guangzhou East about this, he was going to go somewhere else to take the bus though

You can do the scenic route though. From GZ Airport you take metro to Guangzhou South, take the Medium Speed Train to Gongbei Port in Zhuhai, walk 500 meters to Macau, exploit the free casino busses to get to the Macau Ferry Terminal, take a ferry to either Kowloon, Hong Kong Island or directly to HKIA (the latter is the shortest trip)

Obviously you cannot pass through Zhuhai without seeing the magnificent fisher girl (cast in concrete) statue on Lovers Road along the south China sea. But you can save some time by just googeling a picture and there enjoy the view.

I'm planning a side trip to Philippines. When I try search engines for multi-city, they mostly take me from China to Korea, take 19 hours and add $2700 real dolllars. So I want to investigate other options, A flight from Guilin to Hkg is international and more than to Shenzhen or Gz. I can get to Gz cheap by bus, not much more than taxi fare to Guilin airport..

Scandinavian:

From GZ or SZ to HK should be a matter of a couple of hundreds for bus/trains/boats, but remember it might introduce an unpleasant hotel stay. If you are looking at the financials of the trip you want to by all means avoid spending a night in Hong Kong.

There are a couple of airlines that fly from Macau to Manila. But straight from Guangzhou to Manila should also be possible.

TedDBayer:

I just did a search and adding a side trip to Phil. didn't add much to my other flights +$200, but then I couldn't confirm it. It was a Chinese sight, probably just a teaser. When I try to book the side trip to Phil.with my flights, it usually doubles my fare for what should be a cheap 2 hour flight.

I have taken the bus directly from Shenzhen airport direct to H.K. Central,it costs 130rmb and takes approx. 2 hours depending on the time it takes to pass through the border. The bus departs from both terminals at Sz.,it is very easy to buy the tickets as their ticket desk is situated very close to the arrivals exit. by the way, they give you a coloured sticker to wear on your shirt... wear it as it helps them identify you and which destination you are heading for once you have crossed the border. As for Gz.,I do not have any actual experience but I am pretty sure that I have seen some information about buses from Gz.airport direct to H.K.Central.

I used to live in huadu guangzhou (baiyun aiport is actually in huadu) I took a direct bus from huadu to hongkong kowloon but there are also buses to hk airport, cost: 100 RMB

I started from new century hotel in huadu but there are probably also bus agencies from at the airport, if not just take taxi or the airport shuttle bus to new century hotel in huadu (~30min)

at least its very cheap
