Bring back some happy expiriences. Netherlands is a small country, but if you work for Philips, then you will be going to Eindhoven, the place that has the saddest list of attractions 1) Phlips Museum 2) PSV Eindhovens stadium. If you go to Rotterdam and you don't like big ships, well, tough luck. If you go to Amsterdam, it is a marvelous city, plenty of ways of bringing back happy memories. The old part of town, you'd appreciate for the quaint qualities you will know from Prague, it's the same but very different.

Clogs and tulips are the main souvenirs from there. A pair of clogs could be fun for the wife and kid. Personally I'd go for something more fun like what a coffeeshop can do for you. For example, they have these thin cookies they stack on top of your hot beverage to heat up, so when the drink is down to drinking temp, the cookie is nice and warm. Of course the coffee shops also allow you to do legal drugs, but personally I woud not think that being away from home in a strange country is the best environment to do drugs. (unless you have past experience)

Enjoy your trip. Schipol has to be the most boring place in all of the Nether lands.

Chinese people will recommend you to bring back baby formula and gold .... sigh

I know, I was in Amsterdam maybe 10 times already :)

Sure my wife have asked for tulip seeds, and i think this can work.

Btw, i will go to Breda first and than to Baarle-Nassau for week.

It is next Saturday start and there is just Kings Day, so I am not allowed to stay, as the hotel prices are ridiculous :) Maybe I will take train back to Amstr for quick visit andf back , train take 1hr and cost 12Eur. something what I really love is Dutch railways :)

It is unexpected that it is soo fast. he came, saw me and say " yea, I like you, I need you come over to meet with others in company " indecision

Yup. Railways in Holland is awesome, and it really makes you see how flat that country is.... but a rental BMW on the highway does the same

Use it all there. The last thing we need is to see you on the front page. "Foreigner arrested at airport for smuggling"

Nessquick:

For sure, I will use it there, and come back only slightly intoxicated

My wife loves STROOPWAFELS, and so does any Chinese person who tastes them. Something about the moderately sweet, almost bland, chewy texture. My mother recently sent 2x .90cent packets as a surprise in a package of milk powder for our baby, and my wife damn near forgave her for all the rudeness and broken promises of the past. "Liefde gaat door de maag" love travels through the stomach.
You can get stroopwafels cheap in supermarkets. Nothing fancy; she likes the chewy supermarket ones. If you can bring a stock of those back, and post them to me in Sichuan, I'll pay you whatever you think is reasonable (a single package costs 25yuan online, so below that is reasonable). If you let your Chinese friends as much as taste them, I suspect they will devour your entire stock in no time.
Unless you return to NL on a regular basis, you'll be getting your friends addicted to sometyhing that's pricy to get here. So send them all to me! Wink

I will try to find some and  taste them. if will be possible to put in my luggage more, I will send you some.

No promises, you know how it goes :)

I wrote it more as an anecdote than a shipping request. If you do find the opportunity to send some over, my wife will be overjoyed. They're also extremely valuable as personal gifts to Chinese folk - even more so than cash. Let us know what your Stroopwafel experiences were, even if you aren't able to send me any in the end. ;-)

I want pack my things and go back.

48hrs and I am again insane from this place, peoples ...

 Where is civilization ?

Why also here people can not be nice to each other ? accept a small critique when it is for their own good ? Why did I board the plane at Saturday ? I could enjoy with some girls in Amstr and than maybe get job in my parent company and ....

Nai, I have to endure it all because of my previous kicks, yea ?

coineineagh:

i know what you mean. kids keep me here - i can't go back alone anymore. i'm in debt on my dutch bank account ATM, so returning is still a long way off. at least my mom agreed to pay the extension of my WoningNet registration. 6 years' waiting time for an apartment in Amsterdam. i can almost get a decent social housing in the suburbs with that. almost.

Nessquick:

Yea, I am here also mainly because of my son, and the similar issue with my bank showed up in last weeks. some old unpaid bills have multiple "value" :( so I have to do something about it.

Anyway, the core problem still remain. I did not listen single one car horn, did not see kids peeing on the supermarket windows and stairs, almost every single person I met greet me with smile and wish of nice day. Every single factory/station/or so related to work, everywhere coffee machines and coffee for free. Even they do not have to, they stop and give pedestrian right of walk first, and with smile ...

And than you come here, and they are surprised of you, when your first meal in China should not be rice ... Even my wife said my mouth was not bad smelling the first day. second day, after treatment from soya sauce and other nice ingrediences, the disguisting smell is back :-)))

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
