Q: A good dance club in Guangzhou?

Does anyone know a good dance club in Guangzhou? I go to Haizhu Square sometimes, but most bars/clubs are Chinese style- which means standing up and drinking. I don't like drinking alcohol at all. Maybe I will drink one or two beers to relax, but I want to find a place that primarily has people on the dance floor.

Most clubs/bars have dance floors, but they're usually empty. I am too timid to be the first one to dance... I would appreciate any help in finding a real club to dance hip-hop at. Thank you!

Hei hei - near that haizhu bar street, on the waterfront.

Catwalk- tianhe bei road across the street from the old hooleys next to the sports university.

Both seem like regular chinese clubs untill around midnight , then most people dance after they get drunk. No one will stand around and watch you there. No place is exactly what your looking for but probably your best bet.

Hei hei is more hip hop and catwalk is more dance.

Have fun.

I often avoid hei hei, it seems like the quintessentially stereotypical foreign bar. Many of my colleagues feel similary. I've never heard of Catwalk, I will look into it thanks!

yup hei hei , is pretty much exactly like that. But it can be a good thing as foreigners get stupid drunk and dance their face off, so sometimes its annoying, other times its alot more fun then seeing a club full of chinese stick to their own tables playing dice games. Last time it was fun.

Go check out catwalk, its worth it even if it isnt exactly what your looking for.
