I read this question earlier and then went out. I get on the bus and the first couple to get on after me are standing in front of me. She is dressed quite nicely, he has his Capri pants, a really sweet pair of sandals in a fetching black and white zebra effect and carrying his girlfriends hand bag which is bright red with a tacky gold metal linked strap. HE looked about as gay as it possible to look.

I must be old and have no clue about fashion.

What are capri pants?

icnif77:

I Yahoo-gle it, but I don't know the answer. Capri might be female pants, if such a thing exists.

Granted, a man wearing such pants would be suspect as gay.  The hetero male version of capri pants are called "waders". I think either Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn wore them alot. The wader style of pants is normal IMO. The capri style is not.

hi2u:

Didn't know about waders, perhaps that's what they were wearing, but they're still almost skin tight like capris.

I think you may be gay if you wear capri pants. You may possibly be bi-curious if you know what capri pants are without having to google it.

It's weird how the guys who wear those pants are almost always unbelievably skinny, like a 12 year old girl skinny, and they wear a  tight shirt with the tight pants to what....? show off their dainty body? I don't get it.

I just want to tell those dudes to go and work on a farm or building site for a month or so, get their hands dirty, get some blisters, learn what it's like to work for a living.

yogsothoth:

Does a man need to have blisters and construction work experience to be certified a man? In my view of Chinese culture, most guys don't come from rich families. They may get some help, but they work their asses off to buy a house, car, raise family, care for parents, etc..

I have soft hands too. No blisters. I teach maths mostly. Am I therefore also not a man?

Stiggs:

No I don't think you need to have blisters... I probably didn't word it the way I really meant it...  I was commenting more on the type of guy I see wearing those clothes. They just look like pampered mummy's boys to me, unhealthy and sickly, like they never had to do a days work in their lives and their parents provide everything for them, even after they get married and are living in the apartment their parents worked hard for to buy for them. I've met a few of those guys and have no time for them.

I suppose that's just my prejudice showing.

china is chock full of homo males.  from what I have read it has always been an accepted part of their culture.  I read somewhere some of the old BJ kings kept dozens of little boys as sex slaves.  I may be Puritan, but that just seems to me as some kinda sick pervy.  what a disgusting race*

*yeah, I know Han isn't officially a race.  I just can't think of a better word.

Predatory women are on the rise in China. Since females can't just spread their seed about randomly, they have to be more selective and calculating. A common biological strategy, is to seek out a studly hunk to impregnate you, but since such a character isn't a stable carer for children, they look to marry a gentle, submissive and most-of-all stable(=wealthy) man.

Things may be different in China. Male appearance is practically irrelevant, as only money, power and guanxi matter. Female appearance is everything. And the norm is to be light-skinned and very thin. Perhaps the male version of attractive DNA is a thin-assed man, likely to sire thin-assed babies. Capri pants may be these men hoping to score some cuckoldry with unfaithful married women looking for better DNA donors than the fat cats they married.

When I first arrived in China I needed shorts and couldn't find any. So I bought some 30 kuai capris which worked as shorts for me because I'm quite tall. They lasted about 3 weeks and looked ridiculous.

I saw some male students wearing capris today at school.

Anywhere in US 'hood' you go, you can see men wearing 'capris', except blacks in US are wearing them US-style (half-ass).

I'm not sure, AA know these pants are called 'capri'angel

Lmao, my girlfriend was trying to shop for me online and ended up buying me 2 pairs of "shorts" which seemed pretty nice and were really, really cheap. The only problem was, when they arrived I very quickly realized that they were capris. I had a good laugh for a few minutes and my girlfriend was anxious to see what all the noise was about. When she got a look at me wearing the pants she couldn't figure out what was so funny.  I told her that in order to make the capris fit like shorts, I'd have to pull them up halfway across my body so that they'll just fall right at my knees - So I pulled them up Steve Urkel style and started walking around in Urkel-esque fashion, and she was quite abhorred to say the least. She returned the pants and never since purchased shorts from Chiense suppliers.  I've found Uniqlo to be a good supplier of real shorts that fit my opinion of what shorts should be.

Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
