I never heard of it till yesterday.

" Lets take the wee one to the play park" I suggested.

" No way", the other half retorted. " Everyone is going there today".

I think there should be some new and different national days.

...... National go to the pub day.......

.......National buy detergent day.......

.......National fill potholes day.........

.......National speak quiet day.........

And how about:

.....National no chaos day.....

CCTV news last night ran a report on 'International Childrens' Day'.  I skoffed and my wife asked why and I told her this is nothing more than a Chinese publicity stunt and she was initially surprised and then sighed in realisation of the truth.

What most kids did was attend their weekend extracurricular classes as per usual.  I know mine did.  And after they were done they returned home to continue their homework, until 1 or 2 in the morning, as per usual.

Woop de doo!

Scandinavian:

in many ways that is way better than going to some "fun brainwashing event", two or three years ago the schools here used Childrens day to show a movie, the title escapes me, that is utter crap and pure propaganda. This was for larger kids, e..g college students, who in the first place shouldn't be treated like kids anymore.
