It's been quiet (as far as I know) in Beijing for a while now. Any crazy things happen in your city recently, or has China more or less toned it down since last summer's events?
Its less in the news, so yes, it has slowed down. But it is always there....
With the spring time at the rise, I bet those feelings that during the winter are dormant will be on the increase. It's the time for hunting and foreigners look to be better at this sport than any Chinese. Thus, jealousy would encourage those feelings only to belittle their value and to hide their own inability to efficiently hunting. It's just a thought, though I am pretty sure of it.
I think it only rose toward Japanese people. I read somewhere that there was a big fight in some university involving several students from Japan. Plus, the island disputes and bad history between the two countries it's started up again for them. Many people swearing at them and saying bad things out loud.
As far as the overall tone I believe it has toned down dramatically....I remember people here panicking over something everyday!
Anti-Hulk sentiment is at an all-time high.
Hulk:
I tried Japan once: everyone worshipped me; the toilet kept spraying me, and had a built-in webcam for some weird reason; whenever I went to a hotel, someone brought me an offering of legos, and then promptly worshipped me again; and whenever I went to a convenience store, it had a bunch of 300lb losers reading some of the most sickening hentai the world has ever seen -- in broad daylight, in public -- with a sickening smirk on their faces.
Weird people.

Now, now, Hulk. Don't be bitter and smear an entire group of people. Red Hulk would disapprove.
Sure, all is forgiven. No tension now. Worry not, Beijing won't escalate their rhetoric again.
The problem I have wasn't with the crazy crap that happened this summer, like with that German asshole on the train, or with the Kiwi that threw the kid into a pool, or that British guy that attacked that girl, or with that black guy that the police probably beat to death in Guangzhou, or Yang Rui's weibo tirade, or even with the spot visa checks. My problem is with how easily we get scape goated. Can't find a girl friend? It's because a foreigner stole our women. Beijing is constantly under a haze of pollution? Must be the foreign companies here in China. Whenever China has a problem, it's just really quick to point the finger. That's what bugs me.
