Q: Has anyone been able to withdraw money from ATMS aboard with you unionpay?

We'll go traveling all around Asia soon, just wanna confirm if China still blocks money withdraws from ATMS aboard or not? I mean the ATMS that accept UnionPay cards.

Has anyone withdrew funds outside of China with their China Debt card during this 2017 holiday?

Thanks

I know a few Filipinos that do this so the family can withdraw money in the philippines, but not heard of other countries where Union Pay allows this to happen. They can't get 2 atm cards, so they just open 2 accounts and move money to an account where they "express mail the atm card to a family member" and make cash deposits to the account as they need it.

Thanks, Union Pay can be used in a lot of countries, mostly at the top banks in those countries. But in 2015 we had the Market Crash in China and China blocked ATM withdraws for awhile or still present today so the country would have too much funds leaving the country. Anyway I'll try tomorrow and answer my own question.

I'll answer my own question, Yes I was able to use my Unionpay card here at ATMs and shopping malls and a hotel. In Vietnam looks like Unionpay has partnered up with a lot here.

I've just used mine over the last 2 weeks in Mexico & Cuba.

China didn't block unionpay...they have restricted the total amount you can withdraw per day and year.

Yes, I was able to withdraw money from Union Pay ATMs in Canada with a smaller city. How is Vietnam going? I will most likely visit this year. I am going to Kunming in a week, so I may hop over to Vietnam for a visit.
