Q: Has anyone else had the unpleasant experience of using Shenzhen airline?

I tried to fly from Shenzhen to Shanghai last Friday.  My flight was supposed to be at 7PM.  I could not move up to an earlier flight despite the fact that the earlier plane was not full.  Then my flight was delayed twice. One time for "wind control" and the other for "company issues".  I have no idea what those mean, other than the company is completely incompetent.  Then when we finally took off 2 hours late we stopped at some third rate airport between Shenzhen and Shanghai and had another delay for "traffic" despite the fact this plant was the ONLY plane in that airport.

My suggestion to anyone flying inside China, Do all you can to avoid Shenzhen airline!

most of the time the delays are beyond the airline control in China. Since the airspace in China is regulated by the Air Force not by a central department or authority.

So even though the airline will give you a excuse like the one you have they are shifting the blame away from the military to its own fault even though everything is fine.

goomba:

Everything was not fine.  I understand that Chinese are very conscious about  losing "face".  How does yanking people around and telling blatant lies not cost the airline "face"?  I have flown several times on China Eastern and received much better service.  Now, I hesitate to use the words "customer service" when related to Chinese airlines.

To tell the truth, I do not trust most Chinese to operate an automobile, let alone an airliner.

let the flaming begin....

tomcatflyer:

You don't trust them to use automobiles, the bikes are even worse. I don't trust Chinese with any form of transport full stop, they have their heads so full of me, me, me and me again that they have no concept, or time, for those other road users including pedestrians. No flame just a thumbs up.

Flying domestic seems to be that way all over. I've flown from a few different locations inside of China, and every time there seemed to be some sort of delay. The latest was from Changsha to Beijing (Hainan Airlines). International flights don't seem to experience this problem quite as much as flights inside China.
