Q: Has anyone ever been cheated by an ATM here?
Last night in the city, I go to take out 1000rmb from my M/C at the Bank of China ATM.
I go through the motions, it says take your money, gives me a slip and my card back, but the money dispenser door will not open. I start freaking out and beating the machine because the paper says it gave me 1000rmb.
Finally after giving up, I use another machine beside it, and it worked fine.
What do I do if I get charged for both transations? Am I screwed??
I will NEVER use a Bank of China ATM again!

no,there is a code stars which describs that money has actual paid or not,you must keep receipt and contact the bank,your money will already sent back to your account already,as its not yours fault may be machine dont had enough money or its out of service,chill man,you will get all money back,no doubt...
Crimo no worries for you, you can save 5rmb for the cool aid. It will never happen to you, because to have this happening you need to have 1000rmb in your account. You are save, trust me.

I think the $5 fee is a cheat. Why not 5 RMB? I took 3300RMB out a day , so as not to be paying the fee, and then finding the money did not last all day. Next time I'll get married at the airport and handcuff her to me, then I'll stay out of ,,, trouble?

Ya I hate the $4.50 charge to use my BMO M/C here. But I usually just use my normal debit card to make withdrawals and avoid the fees. I usually take out 2000-2500 a time using it with a good exchange rate and no fees.
Update: johnsz you were wrong. The bank said they will give me back my money in 2 MONTHS because my card is foreign!! Nice....I am now starting a boycott of Bank of China.
