Q: Has anyone ever worked for either Henan University of Engineering in Zhengzhou? or Hebei Normal.

Has anyone ever worked for either Henan University of Engineering in  Zhengzhou? or Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology in Qinhuangdao? Also the Henan University of Engineering wants to send me to Zhengzhou with just a tourist visa then get converted by going to Hong Kong.

Here's her excerpt from a Maggie from maggie@ngwhr.com

 1. Zhengzhou has a lax visa policy and the university has a good connection with the government

as long as you have the degree and TEFL , they can sponsor the work visa .

2. Zhengzhou has a lax policy for degree authentication, while most cities demand the degree authentication by the Chinese embassy in your home country , they just need you do the degree notarization which is quite easy.

3, Zhengzhou doesn’t require the official non-criminal check. A self-statement of non-criminal will work for Z visa application.

4. Zhengzhou allow you to come by a tourist visa then convert visa in HK white 80% of the Chinese cities won’t allow that .

By Chinese law, you can enter China with tourist visa (L), but you cannot apply for Z visa in China. You'll be required to exit China and get Z in Chinese Embassy abroad.

I worked in Kaifeng, Henan, and changed an employer in 2014. Henan SAFEA (Foreign Expert Bureau) required, I return to my home country and apply for Z at Chinese Embassy.

I was required to bring Non-crim Cert., before Working permit and Invitation letter were issued.

Your agent doesn't tell the truth. If you'll follow her, SAFEA must approve Invitation letter, issued by School, where School state desired Z pick-up, i.e. 'HK', and if that isn't granted by SAFEA, you'll be required to travel back home to get Z, so I guess it is simpler, if School in Henan apply for WP and Invitation letter at SAFEA (approximate 30-days) , and mail you both originals to your home address.

After you'll receive both docs., it will take approx. another week to get Z visa stamp and you are ready to travel to China.

Last part is proper way, how to get Z visa for work in China.

Other possibility is 'School doesn't hold authorisation for foreign workers hire', and they will change your L to F every 3 months. Maybe, your agent is from Hangzhou?

You can find that out easy: 'ask School or agent to show you 'foreign hire authorisation'. If they have Certificate, you can be sure, School is authorised to sponsor Z visa, and if you don't see certificate, School will run you on F visa, which isn't proper work visa, i.e. 'you're illegal, while working with F'.

I actually just got a job offer from another University the Heibei Normal University of Science of Technology out in Qinhuangdao 2 hours from Beijing they are willing to do it the normal way and give me a work visa straight up.

Good luck! New place might not be any better.... Watch out!

I guess, offers you got earlier were all most likely fudged by placement agent.

Number 4 is a red flag and if that is the only way they'll do it, walk. 1 -3 are yellow flags. What all of that means is that I can screw you over and there's nothing you can do about it.

if you ever see 14-16 hours always ask what if I only have 12 classes? And make sure that it is clearly stated in the contract. Henan schools are famous for screwing people over with trick clauses.
