or other drugs?
I know it is not that common here, but hey, maybe it is more common than we think.
I myself have not touched drugs for 10 years. But just curious.
As far as I heard there is a big market for cannabis and crystal meth
No they go to Holland and smoke all the drugs they want there. If you get caught with that crap here you will go to jail for a long time. No need in trying that. The one girl that helped those Nigerian drug dealers at Sanlitun got caught trying to smuggle drugs for them now she's facing a life sentence in jail and she's just 20 something years old. The drug laws in China are like that of Cuba. A guy in Cuba got arrested and they will face the death penalty.
People would be stupid to try doing anything like that here. You would be facing life or possible death sentence.
nevermind:
You're really overblowing it. You aren't gonna get thrown in prison for taking a couple shrooms. Smuggling heroin will screw you, but a bit of personal stuff is no biggie.

You are right, but I've never seen people take drugs so openly as here in China.
Yes, Shrooms are actually culturally significant in Yunnan and other places. My wife used to do them all the time.
I wouldn't really like to say and I certainly don't know for sure but Hong Kong comes across as the type of haven that drugs cartels may operate from. There are also large border areas to the west of China where it is possible that trafficking could take place. It wouldn't surprise me if certain substances were traded by Russians during the economic collapse in that country for instance. Russians were entering Heilongjiang with absolutely anything that could be traded for food and clothes.
K-fen is very popular in the clubs. It's kind of like a mild speed and is trippy as hell if you do enough of it. I've heard.
There is a big underground drug scene amongst the rich kid set in Shenzhen...mostly around the clubs.
drugs are reserved for those who write for the peoples daily.
In Guangzhou there are a lot of drug dealers on the street. I encountered around 20 in 10 minutes near a bar area. I think they generally sell cannabis, but I was so shocked at how open they are about it!
