Q: Have you ever paid for something on Taobao & then never received?

I recently bought a pair of shoes on Taobao but the seller hasn't sent the shoes yet and it's been almost a week. I've contacted him/her repeatedly and sent reminders to post off the shoes, but have heard nothing. I've now requested a refund but still haven't heard anything. What should I do? Have any of you ever come across a similar situation?

We have not. But we have come across a faulty product that the shop first said they would replace, then they said they wouldn't.

If you demand a refund and they do not either send the product or give you the refund you can contact the taobao main site. They are supposedly quite keen on keeping it a trustworthy site. When we did that for the faulty product we had the product replaced in a jiffy.

Be patient, I did order a pair of boat shoes from Sebago size 47, and they did not had them in stock, so had to order them from the factory and took about three weeks to arrive.  They carried on stock from size 38 to 44 only.  But I eventually received them.

coffaholic:

The thing is, I don't think the problem is that they're out of stock. The problem is that the seller is completely ignoring all my messages and requests. I then looked at reviews of the seller and the most recent review complained about the exact same situation. The buyer said that they ordered shoes which simply never came and were forced to wait for 2 weeks for a refund. It's really annoying.

I've recently ordered jeans but received a completely different pair and I'm in the process of getting a refund.

If they don't have the item in stock anymore, they either won't let you know and then not send anything, or they would simply send something different instead without even trying to communicate with you first. That's super annoying and wastes a lot of the customer's time, but the sellers usually don't care as long as they can get rid of their stock and get your money.

If you file a refund request, Taobao is usually more favourable towards the customers, since they want to keep their image, just like Scandi said. It might take some time though.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
