Q: Head of Tianjin police arrested

My wife told me that the chief of police in Tianjin was arrested for corruption the other day. I wanted to read more about it as some of details my wife mentioned were odd. She mentioned for example a billion yuan was found at his home. I personally think my wife believes the Chinese media too much. I looked it up on google but only found something about him being investigated but not arrested also there was no mention of the mystery billion. Another interesting fact was his predecessor killed himself while being investigated for corruption. It sounds similar to another story posted on here recently.

A billion,? he'd really be guilty if he had a visa application filed.

Usually when it is announced that somebody is being investigated, it is synonymous that they are guilty.

A:If he did contact the embassy they would tell him to engage a lawyer. They at least might be able to point him towards a somewhat decent lawyer, I don't think they'd be of much help aside from that though. I doubt the lawyer would be able to do much other than help negotiate the compensation he will need to pay.   -- Stiggs
