That's like asking "Can someone tell me where New Jersey is located in New York City?".

MrTibbles:

Couldn't resist that.  LAR, Minhang is located very south and west in Shanghai.  It's pretty far outside of the main city center areas.  People sometimes refer to it as "the Bandit Lands" and stuff like that because while it is technically part of Shanghai, it's not very developed - imagine parts of it like Shanghai as a 2nd or 3rd tier city. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice places there (especially housing in some areas).  It's just not what you'd consider "downtown Shanghai", hence my NYC-NJ reference. I mean, it has it's own taxis that can't travel into Puxi... Orange, beat up VW Santanas (aka the Jiangsu Cadillac).

Anyway, the Koreatown there is located in the area of Wuzhong Lu, also around Yingting and Jin Hui Nan Lu (which cross Wuzhong Lu - so Wuzhong and one of those will get you there in a taxi. The closest Metro station is line 10 Longbai Xincun off of the line 10 EXTENSION. Not the route that goes to Hongqiao Airport or Railway Station.  The other way that goes SOUTH (it splits at Longxi Lu, amke sure you're on the train that says it's headed towards Longbai Xincun...)

From there, head south to Wuzhong lu and you'll see lots and lots of Korean text.  Wander around there for a while.  On Hongquan Lu there is a huge shiopping center called "Seoul Plaza" that mostly has stuff from Korea.  I'd say a good 75% is all Korean stuff.

Have fun.

PS - 99.99% of the KTVs in Minhang have the bouncy springloaded floor so common in 2nd and 3rd tier cities.  Only places in Shanghai I've seen them.

2 Downvotes from people who live in Minhang.  You don't HAVE to live there.

Why do you want to go there?  Its not like a Chinatown. Don't expect a street of Korean shops and restaurants.  There are a few Japanese and Korean restaurants there but theres not really a town as such.

Hi xunliang,

Thanx for your comments.  I used to live in South Korea, and have been wanting to go eat some delicious Korean food. (Well, I hope that it'll be delicious! Smile) * I'm planning to visit Shanghai soon, and just thought it would be a nice place to visit for lunch/dinner. "Don't..................restaurants." Aaaah, that's disappointing. :( Well, thanks for giving me the real skinny. "There are............................town as such." I see.

Koreatown is located near Jinhui Nan Lu and Hongquan Lu in Minhang district. About three-quarters of the area’s population are long-term Korean residents (from both North and South Korea.

Here's a small selection of the best but not most expensive restaurants in that area:

Shanghai korean restaurants - Zheng Yi Ping (正一品)

Shanghai korean restaurants - Xiang Cun Tu Cheng (乡村土城)

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
