email your employer asking for your passport back and make sure you get their reply in writing.
contact your embassy immediately - your employer can NOT hold on to your passport for any reason.
they might be trying to scam you - maybe they are not getting the RP and you are not legal after all.
the RP processing does not take more than 2 weeks

Totally agree. Go to your embassy, don't try and sort it out with the police yourself.
This is why passports of many nationalities usually remain the property of the country emitting them: so that theft or retention is no casual matter.
Make sure your employer understands this and the fact they are facing serious trouble.
If it doesn't work, next logical step is to contact your consulate or embassy.
Why is anyone taking this guy serious? He posts this same story over and over and over again. He posts using his username and now he is back to posting anon?
When people read a post do they take a second to think?
Op: Go to hell
School cannot get RP without you being present at PSB, or in other words, your passport is not valid, if you're not present.
Usually PSB take your photo at Entry-Exit Bureau, and they keep your passport for RP processing, which is not longer than 2 weeks, when PSB return your passport.
Your passport in School's hands is not valid. Passport is valid only, if owner is present!
Phone your Embassy for more!
