Q: Hong Kong Airport to Luohu Trains

Hello everyone.

So my flights are booked and my seats are reserved. I shall be flying out on the 7th April to Hong Kong and then getting a train to Luohu (well hopefully anyway). My question is rather simple really. Is there a direct train from the airport in Hong Kong to Luohu, or do I need to change trains? I know already that I will require Hong Kong Dollars to pay for my train ticket when I arrive.

Alternatively, are there any websites with English translation that I can look at now to arrange my transport before arrival?

Thanks all.

There is a bus shuttle from Airport to Luohu every 30 minutes or so. If I remember correct, ticket price is around $HK 30.

The airport express (train) will take you to Kowloon where you can transfer to metro to go to Luo Hu. It is pricier than the busses, but a lot easier and faster.

You can buy the train ticket using international credit cards, however the metro ticket is another thing. Consider getting an Octopus card, you can get one that will also work for busses and metro in Shenzhen if you plan to hang around there for a while. It's a couple of years since I bought my Octopus card, at that time they did not accept credit cards in the metro stations where I tried (think it was Tsim Shai Sui, which is probably where you would end up with the airport expres)

The ticketing personel at HKIA will probably be able to supply you with a metro map and advice on which place to change from the train to the metro.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
