Like every other places, you don't want to end in there. You lose freedom, which is a big thing.

I heard the shower-raping is more tolerable because of the reduced size of the Chinese 'brown mushroom'... lol

I guess the food must be the same as the university canteens too...

Chinese prison inmates must work in factory-like conditions. They make cell phones, toys...you name it. They have a very regular schedule and controlled work day: they get up at the same time every morning, are fed regular meals, have their working hours and sleep. I have a Chinese friend who was in prison for 3 years and he got to write and receive letters to friends and family, could occasionaly receive visitors and got to play his guitar sometimes.

I have another friend who was sent to a correction camp a few years ago for living in Beijing illegally and he said that was horrific. People without the correct papers to live in the city were swept off the street during a "clean-up" before a big event, and many women had little toddlers waiting for them at home and nobody looking after them and no opportunity to call someone to look after them so they were in there for months not knowing if anyone was taking care of their kids and home. Suicice rates were high too he said.

Some of them get to play World of Warcraft all night...actually are forced. The the prison boss makes off with all the money.

Yup, physical labor for half a day, and then farming gold online for the guards to make a hefty profit.

Oh and, those on death row have blood samples regularly taken, as their organs go straight on sale before the body's even cold.

Interesting fact: it's the inmate's family that has to pay for the prison costs.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
