Which websites can we us none Visa and Master Cards meaning China union pay cards?
My Chinese wife just setup an account on paypal and now we are waiting for the small deposit to get her account verified.
So after we are verified, how can we shop? on ebay? How will it work? I tried www.NBA.com to buy a shirt, but it only allowed visa and master cards from paypal. Is it always going to be like that? Will it be different after my wife is verified?
Thanks.

Note. I've only ever used PayPal with Visa and Mastercard, and there the process of verification is the same as you say for UnionPay card. There is bank specific info on the link.

Thanks Scan, It was good to learn about the sending limits if we're not verified yet. Y500 per day.
You need to verify the two small amounts that will be deposited into your paypal account. Once the amounts are in, you will then verify by keying in the exact amounts. I waited one month for the deposits but they never came, so I am still stuck at the verification mode. However, if the payee is a local Chinese party, you can pay by the China PayPal website using unionpay.

We made it work with anything under the limit of Y500. If we can get verified that'll be great. But Thanks for the warning about the deposits.
Thanks Guys
Thank God we got it to work, we used China Merchant Bank. But until we are verified we can only use Y500.. I suggest you guys as your Chinese friends to help when adding a China Unionpay card, because it was a little tricky when came down to the bank address which of course I had no idea what it was and it has to be type in Chinese. So my wife did it.
We tested it by buying a birthday gift for my brother in the U.S ( a Jason Collins NBA Shirt, lol ). We bought it on www.Ebay.com...
Some more advice, when you open an Ebay account make sure to FIRST add your address and select China as your country and type in your Chinese address and make sure you type in your cell phone number. Don't worry after you select an item from ebay you like and click "buy it now" Paypal will give you an option to send to a different address, like in my case, the U.S and it'll save it if you want to use it again.
I hope this helps others get over the hurdle of using Paypal, lets give a special thanks to "Scan and louischuahm" for their useful input..
Does it matter if your credit cards are from China or the West?
ironman510:
No, it doesn't matter, both Chinese and overseas Visa or Master Credit cards will work.. But how an overseas bank reacts to your credit card payment done over here in China might activate their alert system, meaning a U.S bank might halt the payment and wait for you to confirm the transaction. Unionpay worked fine for us..
Just a quick update for guys going for PayPal, we did get our 2 small deposits today, it was like 0.13 and 0.17, it's been less then 24 hours, so our limit was lifted, now I'm ready for birthdays and Christmas this year.
louischuahm:
Good stuff! I'm gonna run to the bank and ask why I didn't get it.
It is very easy to buy using Paypal.
And After your Bank account verified, you will not have limit so you can use as much you want.
And still if you need any help, so just call to China Paypal : 021-28913888

The problem we have sometimes is if we try to buy something with paypal it asks us to use another card again even though we added and got a china Unionpay card verified..

Actually Bank Verfication once done it is for Completed verified Paypal account and get the rest from limited use of Paypal balance IN/OUT.
But it is possible that once in a while it will ask you to enter Credit card which has Master card or Visa card logo , but even after you enter it , it will still charge balance from your available Paypal Balance.
I had once this issue and I entered my friend's credit card details, because there was not important.
