Q: How can I get a close Chinese friends?
I feel so lonely after living in China for 2 months. I could only speak Chinese a little bit!
I want some Chinese friends!
Go to an English corner and just stand there with your arms stretched out and smile, they'll be all over you. And if you play basketball or pingpong remember, the Chinese love ball games, so when you're standing there smiling with your arms outstretched and you want to seal the deal, just show them your balls.
A rather vague question yet again.
Are you an illegal immigrant on your own in a distant village, or are you a highly qualified professional in a first tier city?
Not knowing the details, my advice would be to stop feeling sorry for yourself and go out and talk to people.
People don't come to you. You need to go find them.
Can't talk Chinese? No problem. Just get out there. Go have a beer at a corner shop. Word will soon get around that a foreigner is in town.

I admit if you look Asian and not western it may not be straight forward. I knew a second generation Chinese guy born in the UK who studied here, and he could speak no Mandarin. It was a difficult time for him in China. But then he graduated and got a job in HK. He is having a ball now

How to meet people? I go to a bar for a beer. I don't go to meet people, but after a few beers it's easy to get to know folk. I have met a lot of good friends that way.
Why not invite some fellow students to an ex-pat bar ? Good luck.

The minute you walk out your door there are thousands of people to speak to - eve with minimal Chinese.
Even sitting outside will attract local people to you.

Not true. I have been in China for over a year, and go out alll of the time. And no one talks to me
2 months? It takes time to meet people and get to know them, even in your own country. People will generally already have friends so for them to be interested in knowing you they've got to see something in you that interests them.
Even after meeting people it takes time to become friends, and a long time to become close friends. You need to get our & meet people yourself. Join a club, play sports, go to coffee shops & don't sit there with your eyes glued to your phone.
Let them see your JJ in the bathroom. That's the first step of male bonding in China. Don't push them away from you for being curious - accept it and foster it.
Take a walk down Nanjing Pedestrian Street. People are very friendly there.
Go to international schools, there are many hot Chinese girls in their 20s who speak English and are hoping to meet young handsome foreigners (not Hubert, 55, divorced, teaching at their school) to become friends with benefits, if you know what I mean.
Sob sob. Take some iniative. Get out of your suitcase.
No worries. I had the same problem when I was working or traveling overseas. I was always looking forward to communicate with local person too. But I was too shy to talk first. In fact, you just need to talk first, and then local people will respond to you friendly.
