Q: How can I get a perscription filled when the medication is not common here?

Does anyone else suffer from celiac disease and the skin rash that goes with it? I am trying to renew a prescription for dapsone and I am having a heck of a time.  The hospitals don't seam to have it since gluten allergies are not common in China. Any ideas?

I'd try any special medical treatment/purchases in Hong Kong.

There are few web links on Yahoo-gle for 'Dabsone medication in HK':

3 HK clinics mentioned in PDF.

I have been feeling a little stressed and low due to some time sensitive work demands this week and then BAM!!!, Mr paulaecole, out of the blue you come like Jesus on a Harley and ask this question. I felt my IQ soar by at least 20 points in the time it took to read your OP. Thanks to you, I am now on top of the world and brimming with confidence. Thank you Sir!!

And before you ask....No, I cannot give you visa advice for working on a student visa and getting married to an ethnic chinese girl living in Quebec pregnant with your cousin's child that you intend to sponsor for a visa until she can find a better catch and get across the border to the promised utopia of Foreignerland, in addition, I cannot tell you where to buy batteries or get a massage (with or without a happy ending) and I don't know if the 022 bus goes to Shekou. However, I would suggest you take your own condom to Coco Park.

I finally tracked them down at a hospital in Guangzhou, but they don't want to give me more than a weeks supply. I have found out that it is a highly controlled drug in China because of the problems discussed in the fact sheet.  http://www.hkam.org.hk/publications/hkmj/article_pdfs/hkm0606p174.pdf

Hong Kong might be the best answer.

Thanks for the help.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
