Q: How can you tell if an IPhone is real?
A few times I was approached by someone selling an IPhone, Anyone know how to tell if it's real or not?
Some "fakes" really look like the real ones, sometimes it is very hard to spot a fake. But two things are definitively dead give always in my mind. One, real Apple iPhones only can take one SIM card, if you are offered one that can take two, it is a fake. And also, on real Apple iPhones you can not open the back to get to the battery area, to replace battery you must take the phone to an Apple station for them to do it. So, it you can remove the rear cover to access the battery, you are looking at a fake phone.
GF stole my iphone, so not sure of button name,, check setting or menu,- about the phone . only iphone will say iphone but the program will be IOS 4 or 5 not android,, also iPhone heavier than fakes, I can tell fake when i pick it up. I probably should not post this because no Chinese has ever thought about it, but they could add weight, so the fake feels like a real iPhone. Stupid Chinese fake phone makers
I saw one last night and on the back instead of saying iphone...it just said...phone...lol.
Most fakes just try to look like an iphone...but with different logos and operating systems.

same with scooters that say Yayaha or Hdnda, don't know why they mispell some things, guess the locals can't read it, but some say Yamaha. My friend has one and I can't tell him that Yamaha doesn't make his electric scooter. I doubt anyone worries about copy writes.
Visually you can go to settings-general-about and check the imei number
And serial number go to imei. Com to check it..
Look at the main screen if you see iTunes and app store it's probaly real
Click on the iTunes icon to see if iTunes pulls up
Fastest way to do this is with a computer
Plug in the phone and open iTunes if iTunes recognizes the phone it's real
If not you got a copy.
iPhone clones are not even close to the real thing..
They are slow and useless ... Total waste of money
I sell iPhone parts and make repairs on motherboards so I have seen many fakes
And they are total garbage.
If you can't buy a iPhone 4 start off cheap with second hand iPhone 3G there around 600
Just make sure u test everything on the phone before u buy it
Look for the apple logo also, the fake one isn't imbedded into the phone, instead it's just a small metal sticker

This is not always true...this is only true if the guy who made the fake phone wanted to save 1rmb.
You cannot realy tell a iphone is fake by just looking at the outside of the phone.
You want to see what makes the phone fake look at how it works.
fake phones are slow,cannot download apps on itunes/appstore.
Some good quality fake iphones they just started to get have a very good anroid system on it and its very hard to tell the phone is not an iphone. if you look under the settings/general/about ...it will say android system, this is of course a fake phone.
What realy matters about a real or fake iphone is the computer that is inside of the phone.
Iphones are computers made to be used as a phone so if you buy a cheap computer of course it will work slow.
think of the difference between a apple computer and a chinese 1995 desktop
theres the difference in the real iphone and the chinese iclone
there was an unlock around april for about a week. it was threw an exploit by a chinese hacker. apple notice this error and since it doesnt work anymore.
do not try to buy a gevey chip or rsim IV chip as they wont work but the girls always say they work. Trust me I deal with iphones all day long
If you want to unlock the 4 on 5.0.1 4.11.08 or even 5.1 4.12.01 it can be done with a modification done to the motherboard by replacing the NOR chip.
