Q: How can you tell if it's fake booze?

Fake Western beers, fake Western wine. Apart from the taste, or the smell really...is there a way of telling if the alcohol is fake BEFORE consumption?

Unfortunately, the best way of knowing is by the hangover you have the next day. Fake alcohol will give you one of the worst hangovers ever, even if you only had a drink or two. I can usually tast the difference in mixed drinks, especially with whiskey and coke. It just tastes slightly different.

You can sometimes also tell by the color. I went to a wedding where they served wine but the wine looked really pink instead of dark red and had clearly been watered down with other stuff. Another good indicator are spelling mistakes on the bottle's labelling, although many fakes are flawless. You're most likely to spot a small error in the small print on labels, even if it's just a missing comma.

some of the fake crap can kill you,,, interesting the more I read, the less I like China, you would rarely see fraud like this anywhere else. Or the scandels. I'm envolved with peigree animals.. I have never seen any accurate figures on how many dog and cats died in 2007, the posted figures are low,but everyone I know form South Africa, Germany, USA and Canada all lost pets, so what did everyone else loose? There doesn't seem to be any quailty control or ethics in China production

We busted a guy selling my friend fake wine supposedly from France cause they French was so terrible any westerner would know it was wrong. Basically the best thing you can do is NOT go to skeezy bars. In beijing those places like Pink and such down San Li Tun are all selling fake stuff. Stick to places like Fubar or Paddies, that are western operated and you needn't worry. If you're buying for yourself at home go to carrefour, walmart, april gourmet or seven eleven.

Another way, people will say, is the label under the label. However, I bought some with the label and stopper plug. But, later on the plug popped out, cause it had been taken out before. The stuff had been watered down, thankfully just with water.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
