Two things to let you know.

1.- For a foreigner to get involved in a legal battle in Chinese Courts in China it is a total waste of time and money.  No Chinese Judge and their respective two Jurors will render a veredict for a foreigner against a Chinese national.  So, if you have a legal problem, do try very hard to resolve it out of Court, because lawyers here are not cheap and you will loose anyway, even with tons of evidence in your favor.  I went that route once, blew over $ 10,000 US dollars, and lost the case because the Judge ruled that an official USA birth Certificate, properly certified and notarized as true, properly translated and the translator's certification attached, authenticated all the way up to the US State Dept, plus the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC, just ddid not look "right" to him and was not admitted as evidence, so I wa not the father of my daughter and lost the case.

2.- As to how to get a lawyer, you must do your homework.  Ask friends in city where you live.  The idea is to locate any lawyer.  Once you have one, go ask him or her for an expert on whatever area you have your legal problem in.  Then get in touch with him or her, and explain yourf situation and ask for legalm fees and chances of preveailing.

Good luck to you.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
