Q: How does Taiwan compare to China in terms of racism?

Particularly concerning white worshiping, hating on any darker skin color, and hating on other Asians when it comes to dating/employment.

It's the same you can't say if racism here or there is worse or not. It's all the same! Racism here is no different than anyplace else!

Hugh.G.Rection:

Silva,

I've never had a go at you before but many here think you're a wumao or at the very least Chinese. I haven't said anything before as I have been accused of that myself and I know how difficult it can be to disprove and how annoying it is..............BUT

ARE YOU PUCKING SERIOUS?!?!

I have worked and lived in 19 different nations on this planet and I assure you China is absolutely THE most racist I have ever encountered and I am Caucasian!

Yes racism is global but for whatever reasons I do not know, lack of education, isolation or just pure supremacist thoughts I assure you the average mentality I encounter amongst the Chinese is the most racist I have ever encountered as a racial trait, heck even my wife is still racist and I have been re-educating her on that for over 9 years. Britain, USA and many other nations have very racist individuals and minorities, but China is the worst I have come across for a nation where it is a prevalent trait.

I will admit though, that it is SLIGHTLY less bad amongst the younger people I teach.

Huge erection and I disagree often, but this dude is definitely Chinese. And yeah, racism is really noticeable here. It's less noticeable amongst the youth, but the same is true everywhere in the world. Amongst the Chinese youth, it's still the worst between the youth anywhere in the first or second world.

In Taiwan people are well educated, and well aware of the rest of the world. Taipei is a nice place and in my mind feels more "western" than Chinese.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is 'Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer; 2. Employer applies for an Invitation letter; 3. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
