Q: How easy is it to get a Woop Woop for me joining this beautiful site? :P

No, seriously. I just thought I wanted to say hi, as I just joined this nice website. Smile

You guys already now gave me some valuable and MUCH random knowledge about China. Hehe.

My name is Bjørn, 29 years old and from Germany/Denmark . Currently I am looking for a job, like so many others, in China.

I have just recently graduated and now I am finally finished with my Bachelor in International Sales and Marketing Management. One could say: Oh no, he has probably no experience at all. It would be only partly true, but hey - somewhere I have to start. Just before I graduated I had this nice placement for 3 month in Chile and had the responsibility to develop all Marketing and Sales Strategies and plans for the upcoming launch of the website. Now, as it just launched (www.pickastudent.com) it will be exciting to see whether the preparations are working or not. Smile

Besides knowing about Business Law, Marketing, Sales, Innovation, Financial Management, Global Economy, Global Communications and a lot of other more or less useful things I have especially flirted with Business Development, Guerilla Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and Green Marketing. Since Chile I have build up quite an enthusiasm about Entrepreneurship, so that is what I kill the time with right now - supporting and helping start-ups with their Marketing, Sales and general development.

Anyway, I thought it would be the most polite thing to do just to throw in an introduction to all of you.

And if you should actually know someone, or someone that knows someone that has contacts to another someone who is hiring a young german/danish like me - drop me a line or PM me. Smile

I am currently working on learning some chinese from a girl from my university. I think we are making good progress, and she is VERY strict about learning me stuff. Tongue And she tells me a LOT of things about the chinese culture and customs - which I thanks to all of you in here have got confirmed. Smile

Kind regards,

Bjørn (which in english means Bear, which again only tell about that my parents did not take me too seriously when they first saw me)

Yes glad to meet you BJORN! Whoop Whoop! So yes if I have contacts I will let you know. I've done marketing and sales for awhile. The pickastudent sounds very familiar with a website I use to use with a similar catch phrase name. Welcome!

llBamBamll:

Thank you. :)

It turns out that it is not that easy as I thought to get a job in China unless I would apply for the teacher positions, which I am not sure I would be very good at. I just would not want to be teacher only for the reason that I then can be in the country, as so many others seems to do. And I still don´t know how English teachers without being able to understand or speak Chinese can actually teach the children. Then again, that would be a different question.

I hope that I can get a work within something that I have a passion for, which in this case would be Marketing. Maybe I should initiate plan B soon. Come to China, go from door to door to apply or simply just throw my Resume out from different rooftops and hope that my future employer will find me before the police does. :)

Do you know the pickastudent concept from some other site or is it just the name that sounds familiar?

Where have you been working with Marketing and Sales?

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
