Q: How long does it take for money to get sent overseas?
I did an e-banking trade, sending money to my Aussie bank account (yes - all details ARE correct... at least, as long as the automated bit with my bank's Swift-code is right...). That was almost THREE weeks ago - and the money STILL hasn't shown up!!!
I used ICBC (hate them hate them hate them!!!!), and yes, I did send AUD - as both TT and Cash (2 transactions).

I've never had any real delay. I transfer money, since it's the middle of the night for my bank and I have to go through a second back (mine isn't big enough for a swift account) I check the following day is it's in my account.
The first time can take a LONG time. I just use Western Union, send it to my folks, they pop it in my account. It gets home within a half hour.
Reminds me, I gotta do that tomorrow!
My girlfriend uses a small agency in Chinatown in Sydney to send money either way. Very low cost and gets there in either direction the next day. She just puts money into their account when in China and they pay it to whoever she wants it paid to in Sydney.
Use Western Union, takes a day, fee from home is $12 or $14, ..If you weren't sending to a bank but a person on a regular basis, I read a cool idea.. open a bank account, give them a bank card for it, they can take the money out, only a $5 charge from China.t home $1.5 to $3
Transferring money account by bank will take you three to five days.
However, if your country has union pay banks, its much easier.
Deposit your rmb (let's say Bank of China), you can withdraw in your country with union pay banks atm.
It worked for me when I went to Australia and New Zealand.
