I'm curious who amongst us is the "oldest hand" at this China thing.
I've got 2 years and some change.
I'm halfway to my 6th year, did high school here, then decided to stay.
I only went back "home" twice.
Right at two years working plus a couple of traveling trips.
2 years from 2003-2005
4 years from 2007-now
Hopefully, I can find my path back to Switzerland as soon as possible
About 5 1/2 years and counting. Asside from short business trips, I haven't actually left China in almost 4 years.
I've been multiple times for trips ranging from 2 weeks to an entire month. I'm leaving for GZ to fulfill a one year contract on Thursday actually. If anyone's down for a beer then hit me up.

I split my time between GZ & Wuhan, would be happy to share a drink when you are in town.
Next May marks year number 7 for me. Just starting my Daqing phase now

May I ask, are you an English teacher? And if sdsdo, how do you do the via renewls , year by year? Do you just go to hong Kong?
Too Long. A little over 10 years in GZ. I get to practice mental isometrics with my Chinese manufacturers every day. So, if it's true, "you're only as good as your best test", I should be great somewhere else.
too friggin' long too,,, didn't exactly keep count,, something like 8 or 9 in different parts of The Big C and another 6 or so in other parts of SE & East Asia.</p>
