Sign up with Google Sign up with FacebookI'm really looking for an answer, too, because I'd really want to make moar Chinese friends, too! I'm with you, Nick!
"Moar" ?? What language is this?
paulmartin:
Its the greatest language from Mr PoutineDufion he has his own superb language and country Merica
coineineagh:
"Moor" - a term from back when the west thought of foreigners with the same disdain. Make some Moorish Chinese friends while you're on a crusade!
you should be polite to them and listen them sincierly,be simple and sure they will like to be friends with you...!!!
GuilinRaf:
Dont chase them away when they want to practice their English with you BUT be careful if they invite you to a tea shop! It may be a scam!
go around passing out cigarettes and glasses of baijiu
english corners, mutual friends, go to chinese bars or hang out places where the majority of customers are chinese.
Go to a Chinese bar, order a bunch of beer and you will make "friends" faster than you can say free loader.
i am a local guy, wish to make friend with u.wanna further communicate with you , so as to know each other well..
i think that simple to make CHINESE friends if u are now in CHINA,if not,u can go to some chinese website ,like some forum..
First of all, if you have to look for "Chinese friends" you have more problems than anyone on this site could possibly help you overcome. In my opinion, they'll surely find you first.
Making friends is not something people go out and try to do. It's a process over time where like minded people share common interests or in some cases, ideological differences (opposites attract). Asking someone to be your friend wreaks of desperation.
But when in doubt, like a few of the guys here said, slap the beans on the table and you will have to swat your "new friends" away like flies.
I'm really confused by this question as I have far too many friends in China. Go to an English corner at any random university or coffee shop and you will be happily greeted by more than a dozen friends - at least 1-2 of which will likely become great friends by the end of the week.
If you want more street smart friends, clubbing is a terrific way to do it. Learn to play some dice games and other random things and you'll have random people shouting your name in a bar while you vaguely try and search your memory again and again.
just be interested in friends. they like to discuss topics that are related to them. like with guys , playing table tennis, badmington with them, asking questions at sale places. with i make friends everywhere i go. for example at shanghai science and technology subway station underground market. i have develop friendship with some of them ..now when i go there they feed me with useful information to help me shop smart.
also listen or read news . and discuss the current topics with them. recently i ask a chinese guy who i dont know . what do u think of the chinese gala now that zhao benshan is not performing. it became an interesting thing all together. first he was surprise that i know to that extent.
if u are a student or worker your campus or workplace there are alot. u can also make friends on qq, weibo, renren, kaixin etc. just get involve.
Good question,
i would like to know also.
i have a few , but it seems there is resistance for that in some areas of china
Good play basketball with the guys, I've made lots of good friends this..
The best way is ALWAYS interaction.
A common interest that doesn't require too much communication (depending on your Chinese & their English). So learn Chinese Chess (Xiang qi), Connect 5 (wei qi) or Mah Jong (Ma Jiang) and ask a local to play. You can ALWAYS see them playing these things on the street corners.
If not board games, try basket ball, foot ball, table tennis or badminton. Tons of people will want to play with you and will likely end up friends. Drinking buddies works too but that depends more on communication and obviously doesn't mean you have anything in common other than drinking lol.
Video games works well too for younger people. I got a ton of Chinese buddies I play video games with on STEAM. Helps to practice Chinese for me and English for them in a non-boring classroom type of way.
Seems to me it comes down to like interests. I like sport, politics and beer in the afternoon...all in English. Chinese have no interests or capabilities in these things, so making friends isn't simple.
But I've got one or two.
1 just be brave to join the Chinese group outdoor activities.
2 learn Chinese language.
MOST IMPORTANTLY , friend your Chinese friends.
By the way, i am surrounding by the Chinese friends. Would like to help you , if you want .
1 Get yourself into any activities. Sports works, they do love sports.
