We have experienced the Olympic Games in Beijing and London, the Chinese national flag has been raised so many times, but how many of us know the words to the Chinese national anthem ?

In what language -- can I ask?  In Chinese, I might know some of it but in English almost none of it.

These are the Chinese lyrics:

起来!不愿做奴隶的人们!
把我们的血肉,筑成我们新的长城!
中华民族到了最危险的时候,
每个人被迫着发出最后的吼声。
起来!起来!起来!
我们万众一心,
冒着敌人的炮火,前进!
冒着敌人的炮火,前进!
前进!前进!进!

These are the lyrics in English:

Arise! All those who don't want to be slaves!
Let our flesh and blood forge our new Great Wall!
As the Chinese people have arrived at their most perilous time.
Every person is forced to expel his very last cry.
Arise! Arise! Arise!
Our million hearts beating as one,
Brave the enemy's fire, March on!
Brave the enemy's fire, March on!
March on! March on! On!

Heck I don't know the words to the Canadian or American national anthems (I'm British) let alone the Chinese!

In fact come to think of it I know more of the German national anthem (I lived there for 7 years), than I do any other  apart from the British.
