how much is a decent 3 bedroom apartment in zhengzhou henan? planning moving there? what is cost of living there compare to beijing?
Zhengzhou is cheaper than Beijing but maybe not as much as you might expect for a city in such a backwards sh*thole province (speaking from experience here). I don't know apartment prices as the colleges i've worked for always gave me one rent-free, but i'd guess a decent 3-roomer would be at the very least 2000 RMB per month.

Yeah, it's fairly bad. Grey polluted sky, dirt everywhere, full of the worst examples of Chinese peasantry. Having said that, i went to Beijing once and i felt it wasn't too different.
Of course it depends of the location in Zhengzhou city, but 2000 for a decent 3 bedroom apartment is not enough. Around 3000 RMB per month, not including "wuyefei" (in beijing this is included in the rent). Cost of living compareble to beijing.
Zhengzhou is like... think of an industrial center full of peasants with rude obnoxious behaviors (I mean more than in the rest of China), grey skies not from clouds but heavy pollution, rare greenery won't cut it in this concrete hell, oh and the local government is considered to be the most corrupted in the country.
