got mine for 1900rmb on the dream tv package which is connected via the net and it doesnt slow down your speed.
few channels are ESPN, star sports, bbc, cnn, aus network, HBO, axn (fox), nat geo, discovery, tlc (discovery home and living).
Downside cloudy day gets spotty depending on how thick the cover is, storms complete loss of signal.
If you want PM me and will send you the guy who did mine if you are in Beijing
There are two ways of getting this, one is "supposed" illegal, and the othyer one is legal.
The illegal one you buy the dish, received, and decoder program and you can get one satellite, or if you get two extension brackets and extra "eyes", you could get up to three different ones. It gets the decoding signals thru Internet, and it will work until the company changes decoding program, usually between six months to a year. But new program is hacked a nd copied pretty quick, and whomever installed the system for you could reprogram it for around 100 Rmb extra. This system sells locally for 1,600 Rmb. One satellite has 37 channels, some Chinese (mostlt CCTV), and some International ones like HBO, Max (Cinemax), Discovery, Nat Geographic, CNN, NBC, BBS, Australia, France, Japan, Korea, Cuba, and a few other business, news and financial channels. On severe storms you loose reception, otherwise works reasonable OK.
The legal way would be to contact the company that offers the service and buy the equipment from them, and pay a monthly fee for the reception. I am told is somewhere between 100 to 200 Rmb per month.
brisguy and Happy, thanks for the info. I will look into it. brisguy I would have used your guy but I'm in the north east of China but cheers for the offer.
