Q: How much does a Z visa cost from Hong Kong?

I'm leaving on Monday to Hong Kong to get a Z visa. My boss said it costs around 1000 rmb, but I went on the HK website and it said 1860 rmb...which one is correct??

The price of the Z visa depends on your home country, the amount of time your visa is for, the amount of time that you will be able to stay in China without needing a visa run and whether you do all the work yourself or hire a visa agency to do it for you.

For an American citizen filing for a 3 month Z visa, if they do it themselves, it should cost about 900-1000RMB.

As XPat John says, it will depend on your nationality.  For persons from USA it makes no difference the type of visa, or the length, or the number of entries, or the days of stay, it will be about $ 145 US dollars.  One flat price covers all variations and types.  This is so because China does charge foreigners the same price its nationals are charged for visas to that country also.

Now, if you wish your visa faster, there are extra expedite charges, or if you use a visa agency, then you must pay their fee too.
