It depends , some years I go back twice or more. Others i dont go back at all for a few years.  I last went back the christmas before last.  Last year I just used that money to spring for tickets for my family at different intervals.  Mom came to China once, and my baby bro did too. Then the family all met up in Thailand for ten days.  So Its just friends im not seeing really.  I just saw them 3 months ago, so this Christmas is out.  Probably this summer. I prefer to use my vacation time to go to knew places and have the family come to me when im not on holidays.

Once in 6 years. It was because I wanted to use my precious free time and money to see new things, and also a bit scared to come back home. It was an error, I put unnecessary stress on myself. I plan to emigrate back home soon, tho ^^

I have generally taken the approach to try to fly home at least once a year. I have not always followed this however, because of wanting to see many of the interesting places and cities around China and Asia. So while theoretically wanting to return once a year, in reality it has probably been more along the lines of once per 2 years or so.

Still, when it gets too difficult to stay in China I have always been able to go to Hong Kong or some of the other civilized (defined as order and rule of law) countries in South East Asia. Hopefully the cheap flights and trips to Hong Kong and SE Asia is not going to change anytime soon.

Usually once every 2 years. I prefer heading back during January as the cost of flights is a lot cheaper than December. I am looking forward to my trip home this January.

I take trips at least twice a year in Asia. Finally went back after six years . It was nice to see friends and how people are so annoyed by Chinese tourists.

I go home when I have a huge time off like in the summer and to get away from the horrible heat that China has in August.  I always make sure I do something new while I am back home. For example I went to a State I have never been to before.

I always go to the same state - relaxed :)

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
