Q: How will the new visa ABC thing affect those of us who live but don't work in China

For those of us who work for ourselves or have retired to China and just live here, what will the new ABC visa thing do to us? Will we still need to go to my local visa office in BJ to renew my passport and renew my visa, or do we have to get the ABC thing?

Doesn't affect you at all. Only affects those on work permits. Carry on as you have before.

It means you will see less expats teaching in the future. So it might affect you from a social standpoint.
