Q: How will you celebrate Christmas here in China?

(If you observe this holiday)

Will you do anything Christmas related?

Sing a carol, a hymn, or listen to the Chipmunks or an Elvis Christmas song? Will you watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, etc.

Or just enjoy the day off?

Merry Christmas.

My celebration will be done in advance, by getting on a plane and going home.  Yippee! wink

But, I do feel for those stuck here during the holidays.  If it were me, I'd find one of those nice western/expat restaurants that will serve a nice Christmas dinner and splurge.  Luckily for me though, I'll have access to Mom's cooking enlightened

As a Secular Humanist my wife and I will buy our daughter some presents (from Santa) and put them under the Christmas tree (Pagan), which she will open on Christmas day (pagan / pre-historical date). I will have one day off work.

That is all.

Probably won't celebrate, it's not the same feel as back home.  The atmosphere is totally different..

you have to make up the atmosphere :-)

Crack open a bottle of Jamesons' whiskey bought in Dublin and enjoy the time with my friends here.

Will probably end up eating a few apples too.

I've arranged a small party with a few close friends at my flat on Christmas Eve. We plan to indulge in a few too many glasses of vino, exchange gifts and watch 'Bad Santa' on the flat-screen. I can't wait to see reaction of the Chinese girls !   Tongue

     Go Billy Bob !

as the evening winds down I'll play my mp3 collection of Christmas Classics. (yes, Bing Crosby & Elvis...)

Sounds great, have a good one.

Will cancel my one class I have for that day, and book a room at the Holiday Inn here in Nanyang where they will host a special Christmas dinner with entertainment, and give away special discounts to Holiday Inn (anywhere China) deals.  All the foreign teachers here had our Thanksgiving dinner party there.  IT WAS GREAT!!!

Class will be given survey homework due the following week for class discussion.
