ive got an iphone 4s from england and is locked with tmobile but i would like to use my chinese number with this phone
tmobile sent me an email saying it had all been sorted out and all i had to do is connect it to itunes but nothing has happned,
what would be my options, i would prefer not to jail break my phone
ow right and they also said if it doesnt work try resotring your phone, but after such a lengthy procedure nothing works,
these guys are doing my head in, i still have the phone from my previous contract and cant use my chinese number with that phone either
many providers are now unlocking iphones, I'm not exactly sure how to do it, my locked iphone is still in china, works great as a camera. I think they send you a code and you hook into itunes and it unlocks, google unlock tmobile if you can.

ive tried dude, ive got an email from tmobile with all the instructions but still didnt work, i dont understand what the big fuss is, why is it so complicated this is what i hate about apple
stan118:
at the moment i still use english number with the iphone but i have my data turned of
ask him
Hakupatasa:
hey man...that is what i am waiting for iPhone 20..but i heard from inner source that the iPhone 20 will be in the form of a Chip which you can directly place under the skull....for rest of the world except China
one you mentioned will be sold only in China..with little bit rounded shape so that it can be utilized for other purposes also.....hahahah (me already drunk with Chinese noodles!!!!!)....
manasyt:
ahhaha other purposes yes ....iPhone XXX (the iButt iPlug) edition
just pay the 300rmb and get it unlocked at one of the small apple shops. that's what i had to do once i got here. it won't be jailbroken. just unlocked. ask for gevey. your chinese simcard fits into the gevey piece and allows your chinese sim card to work.
brendangibson:
cool. besure to ask for GEVEY. if you have to turn your phone off fo a flight there's a quick process you gotta do when you turn your phone back on. i can gice you the process. quick and easy.
stan118:
if you can give me that, it would be cool, i did go to the phone shop today and they said they cant do much now cos i have the latest software,
brendangibson:
yeah, forgot to tell you they can't do it if you've recently updated. Wait a couple weeks for the tech guys to figure out how to unlock it. When it is unlocked, don't update it. You would have to do the whole process over.
go to a second-hand market and sell it for 400 to 600RMB and get a Samsung galaxy s3, and stop using apple unless you want to be centralized where you can only get components from their shops and so damn expensive.
stan118:
why the hell would i sell it, and even if i did want to sell it what make you think i would give it away for 400rmb
or forget Apple & Samsung and get a sexy ass HTC...like me
stan118:
do have a htc, Courtesy of my boss, but the quality of the touch screen is even worse infact it takes even longer to do anything, the whole point was to be able to use this good phone i already have not buy another, well atm i got my english number in the iphone and the chinese number in the htc which my boss gave to me
manasyt:
which model is it? I just bought One S, I love the screen, no issues so far...
its called jailbreaking.... its very easy and can be done from your home computer. Look it up on google...
stan118:
tried, but there is no jailbreak for the latest software patch, im guessing someone will put one up sooner or later
I just bought a factory unlock. You can do it with your provider. I had to put a different service SIM card in my phone, connect to itunes( message phone not recognized), unplug the phone and wait 10 seconds, plug it back in, message is phone is unlocked.
With a factory unlock, the phone is forever unlocked. With a software unlock, if you update or restore the phone, the phone will lock again.
Some iPhones can only be factory unlocked because the IOS on the iPhone has never been broken. Jailbreaking allows you to use other phone apps, many are free. Without jailbreak you must use only Apple apps.
stan118:
dude if you read my post you will know tmobile has told me to do the same thing u did but nothing has worked
TedDBayer:
contact t mobile, maybe you gave them the wrong IMEI number. ask them for the correct procedure to connect, it is not just connect, if you read my answer. maybe they are different.
