Q: I have an L Visa for a 90 day visit.

I'm allowed two entries, does that mean that I can stay for 180 days?

No.

Means on your first entry to China is for 90 days. When your 90days are up you need to leave China. Then you can come back in for your 2nd entry of 90days.

depends how long you can stay for each visit you need to check you visa, i remember there was similar  visa in the past was for 90 days 2  entries but you had to leave after 30 days, so this is good for someone who is looking to come to china twice within 3 months period but not good if you are looking to spend the whole 3 months here it wont work out

It means that you will enter China and have a 90 days stay, then must leave China and enter another country, and within 5 seconds return to China for your next 90 days stay.

What I do is to go to the border between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, check out of China, enter Hong Kong, and out in parking lot make a walking U-turn and exit HKG and re-enter China.  Takes me about 3 hours.  Sometimes ?I do the same at DeTian Falls at the border with Vietnam.

Of course, you can also request at the local PSB where you will reside an extension of your stay, normally two 30 days extensions will be granted if you meet the requirements.  That could add to your days in China too.

There are THREE important informations on Visa:
- number of entries (entries)
- duration of each stay ... after entry
- date of latest entry allowed (enter before)

so You can go [entries] times, and stay each time no longer then [duration_of_each_stay], and last entry should be before [enter before]

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
